Somatic Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) uses somatic techniques to support the standard EMDR protocol in reprocessing traumatic memories so they are no longer stored in the body as a present-day threat.
EMDR is a treatment that uses Bilateral Stimulation to reprocess traumatic memories, decreasing the memory’s intensity and associated emotional distress.
Research supports EMDR’s effectiveness for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and other Trauma-related experiences.
Somatic EMDR intensives include a series of 90-minute sessions. This intensive allows time for preparation, extended processing, and integration to support the effectiveness of the treatment.
The Somatic EMDR Intensive is a treatment used in addition to regular therapy services. This can look like starting the Somatic EMDR Intensive in addition to continuing to work with your current therapist, or scheduling in additional therapy time at Odyssey Counseling and Therapy. Additional information on this will be discussed during a consultation call.
Somatic EMDR Intensives cannot be billed to insurance and are out-of-pocket only, costing $225.00 per 90-minute session. This intensive is offered in-person only.
